Do you have a windshield or a rear view life perspective? Exactly how would you describe your perspective? Well, have you ever paid attention to a car’s windshield and its rear view mirror? Notice the size of the windshield versus that of the rear view mirror. By now you have thought about it. The windshield is huge compared to the rearview mirror. Now, can you look at your life in terms of a windshield and a rear view mirror? The windshield is a window that gives you a current look at what is in front of you or your today, while the rear view mirror lets you see what you have already passed, or your yesterday. The windshield is very large because you are supposed to be looking at the big picture ahead of you in your life. Not the reflection of the past. It is OK to glance into the rearview mirror so that you can get perspective, however do not focus on it as what you focus on you bring into view or create. Driving here represents your life. Your car represents the tools you have to navigate your best life and your rear view mirror and windshield are your perspectives. The question then to ponder is, “am I looking forward or backwards and why?” Are you focusing the rear view mirror and driving? To do this is to be chasing shadows. We all know that when we chase shadows we are wasting our time as it is impossible to catch up with a shadow, and this means you are not living your best life. Your best life is ahead of you. Focus on your windshield and live your best life.
